Akwadum, Eastern Region, Ghana — July 16, 2026: The Health, Education, and Entrepreneurship Development (HEED) Foundation has paid a visit to Akwadum Christian Village, an orphanage home in the Eastern Region of Ghana, as part of its commitment to supporting vulnerable children and strengthening communities.
During the visit, the Foundation donated educational materials and other essential items, including bed sheets, to support the children and the day-to-day needs of the orphanage. The donation was received with appreciation and excitement, as the children expressed their joy over the items presented to them.

Receiving the items on behalf of Akwadum Christian Village, Ms. Edith Dzifa expressed her gratitude to the HEED Foundation for its kind gesture and support. She, however, highlighted the urgent need for additional infrastructure at the orphanage.
According to Ms. Dzifa, the orphanage is in dire need of more dormitories and classroom blocks to accommodate its growing population. She explained that the lack of adequate space has become a major challenge, forcing the institution to turn down the admission of more children in need of care and support.
The Executive Director of the HEED Foundation, Mrs. Doris Opuni, who led the delegation, acknowledged the needs presented by the orphanage. She noted the importance of the concerns raised and assured the institution that its needs would be kept in mind for possible future projects and interventions by the Foundation.
The visit provided an opportunity for the HEED Foundation team to interact with the children, share encouragement, and reaffirm the importance of supporting vulnerable children through education, care, and community development.

The HEED Foundation continues to believe that meaningful change is achieved through collective effort and sustainable interventions that improve the lives of individuals and communities.
