The Health, Education and Entrepreneurship Development (HEED) Foundation has announced plans to construct an ultra-modern Research and Technology Hub at Asokore-Koforidua in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
The facility, which is expected to be completed within six months, will feature a fully equipped Information and Communication Technology (ICT) suite, a digital library, and a multipurpose conference auditorium designed to support learning, innovation, and research.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the HEED Foundation, Dr. Adae Opoku Amoako, during the Foundation’s free health screening exercise held in Asokore-Koforidua as part of its outreach activities.
The health screening initiative provided residents with access to medical examinations and consultations for conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes, breast cancer, and other general health concerns. Medical professionals were also present to offer guidance and prescribe treatment where necessary.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Amoako reiterated that the Foundation was established to help young people unlock their potential through education and entrepreneurship development. He stressed that empowering the youth begins with creating healthy communities and ensuring access to opportunities that improve lives.
According to Dr. Amoako, the planned Research and Technology Centre will play a major role in addressing educational and technological challenges in the area. He explained that the project is intended to help bridge the ICT gap, promote a stronger culture of reading and research, and provide students with modern tools for learning and development.
Since its establishment in 2016, the HEED Foundation has continued to support students and young people through educational assistance, scholarships, entrepreneurship initiatives, vocational training opportunities, and periodic community health programs.
The Foundation remains committed to helping brilliant but underprivileged students and aspiring young entrepreneurs pursue their dreams and build brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
