Last year, HEED Foundation had the opportunity to bring its commitment to community health closer to the people of Agbogbloshie through a health screening and education programme.
The initiative was organized as part of the Foundation’s efforts to promote preventive healthcare and make basic health information and screening services more accessible to people within underserved communities.
During the programme, community members were given the opportunity to undergo basic health checks and receive health education. The activity also created a platform for the team to engage directly with residents, listen to their concerns, and encourage them to pay greater attention to their health.
For HEED Foundation, the programme was not simply about conducting health checks. It was about creating awareness, encouraging early detection of health conditions, and helping individuals understand the importance of regular health monitoring.
The outreach also demonstrated the importance of taking healthcare beyond hospitals and clinics and into communities where people may face challenges accessing regular health services.
